Practice spot and missing manhole covers...

For some reason the gs was running like a sewing machine today. Aside from the clutch starting to slip a little of course. Went out and treated to a full on $3 spray off (wax too !) after last weekends couple hundred in the rain.

Riding at speed in the rain makes cool dirt swirlies on the engine cases. Looked like it was air brushed there for a while.  I really dig a dirty bike. But the gs likes being shiney, so she wins.

Found a new spot for slow speed practice. Setup a slalom, couple of paced off E stop marks, and a perfect U-turn curve. Not to mention not-yet-built subdivisions have fun curves with no one on them. ;)

After an hour or so my arms were hurting and the clutch hand was sore. There were little gs tracks everywhere from the 'practice'. So I picked up the trash I used to make my course and piled it back where it was originally. Took a sip of coke and decided to see if I missed any cool turns. Yep, I did. And one of them had a missing manhole cover.

Pucker, swerve, pucker. Went over and got an orange cone and put it next to the manhole. Man, if you drove a car through there at 30 or so you'd rip the frame out. A bike ? Man, you're history.

Watch out, especially in neighborhoods. I've heard kids think it's funny to remove them and drop them in a storm drain.  :cookoo:

So is that technically a compliment or a negative connotation?

Glad you had some fun.... Nothing like a good "pucker" moment to get the adrenalin going..

That's a good thing. Usually between the cam slopping about and the valves swapping guides it's hard to tell if it's running or someone's dragging a dozen newspaper boxes behind a 54 chevy. ;)

It really did sound good yesterday. When I topped off the tank on the way home I checked the oil and half expected some fuzzy felt fairies to fly out of the engine case it was so smooth.
