This is the view about 20ft from my office.......not a blade of grass in sight!!

I could be totally wrong, but I'm going to guess we're looking at the exciter end of around a 400 Mw conventional steam turbogenerator?  Or, are we looking at the exciter of something slightly larger?

Correct  that particular set in the photo was mothballed about 18 years ago for economic reasons but the other 3 that you cant see work fine and will deliver about 450MW each.

You are near enough to win a prize that particular set was taken out of service years ago for economic reasons but the other 3! will see about 450MW at full chat.

can't see much out the window except a few cars flying by on Wilshire.

Inside, it's all LA-beautiful people, in their 30s and up mostly. Its a lot darker than this usually.

ahh yes, i remember the ghettobird. i used to get them out near my apt in phoenix, id go into the desert behind my buildign, and fire my glock a few times, ( at 4am) get teh casings, and go inside. not even ten minutes later. there they were
