I bought my second gs500 I think i am a gs junkie this one was the deal of the century  runs rides and does everything right. Now i see what you guys are talking about  it was 35 out today and i took it for a ride and i love it and did not want ot get off of it. Its all bone stock  talking about smooth and it has a little nut  too that is the red one it is a 1990 I hope the black 1989   rides like that when it is done with the jet kit the K&N the slip on I should be locked up and throw away the key( let me know what you think)                               http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii283/nipplebiter08/

Looks good, always have a soft corner for the 89 colors white or black with the pin stripe types.
And one more of those $100 GS stories, and I swear I am never talking to anyone on here ever ... I seem to never find even 1 of those. I ahve however bought like 10 in the 700-1000 price range, complete but not running shape ... but yea, good deals, yea, right ... they see me comming and go ... man this dude was born yesterday and fell off the turnip truck today ... yipeee ...

Very nice  ... I just bought my second GS as well  I love the GS, although I plan to purchase a larger bike I will keep and ride my GS500's for ever

i have other big bikes but they are old a 1976 gt550 sweet bike. two 1978 gs1000s one great, one parts. a 1980 gs1100 rider k&ns jet kit 4 into one pipe that bike rips . and a 1981 gs1100 that will be my drag bike some day those are just mine. now my dad has more unreal suzukie stuff way to much to list I will post my colection soon  thanks anthony

if you look into the paint it looks almost dark dark blue flake is there a paint code some where ?

I bet it's Perl Novelty Black, which was the main color on the '96 and '00 bikes I used to have.  (See the chart on [THIS PAGE].)

Maybe the Wiki has paint codes?

if I can afford it when I get my SV I would like to keep the GS and cafe it out with clubman bars, bar end mirrors, and cutting the tail down. twould be badass!

It sounds like a great ideal . I want to turn one of mine  into a track bike but my dad wants me to just buy a old race bike  he says it would save me alot of time and money who knows
