OK, in ohio it's a misdemeanor punishable by exactly what you said unless there is bodily injury, then it becomes a class 5 felony.

Ehh shaZam!, I forgot the major line of distinction, it crosses from a misdemeanor to a felony when bodily injury is involved...........it's just a misdemeanor but they will still most likely suspend her license in lieu of any serious fine or imprisonment.

Mmmmm, guess they slipped that one through quickly, seems his parents had some clout.  I should have followed up quicker and gone to court.  I had a broken left collar bone and partially torn rotator cuff and still do from that accident.  I was more interested in getting back on the road with a bike and did so 2 weeks later, actually 13 days later.

If you were back on the road that quick they would have argued that your injuries weren't all that serious......... :cookoo:   But yeah, I'd say that one just slipped through.

I had a CM400A Hondamatic back then so I just rested my left hand on the grip while I rode with my right mostly, it still bothers me a bit as does my left wrist.

Tripped walking down the sidewalk a couple years before that and broke my left wrist compressing the radius bone.  It was repaired surgically a couple days later with a steel plate and I was riding again 2 weeks later on that clutchless CM400A.  Was a good 6 weeks till I could pull the clutch enough times  with my left hand to ride the GS again.

I should have kept that Hondamatic for future left arm injuries.
