Absolute Rescue

I have an job opportunity in Charlotte, NC and have started to seriously consider making the move from NY. A friend of mine is already down there and is helping to get me in. He lives in Lake Wylie, SC. I have started looking around for apartments and what not just to get an idea. Any suggestions on where I should look? Places to avoid? Thanks.

Absolute - The srinath used to live there ... the srinath loved it.
Lake Wylie is great though $$$ ... Charlotte is cheap and nice and very small, but great roads great weather not flat and deserty ... but still flattish ...
Werase, average, Dgyver, starwalt etc are all driving distance away.
Cool.

Ry_Guy the job is with a racing school based out of Lowes Motor Speedway.
Frankie, I might be looking for a roommate lol, having trouble convincing my fiance that we should move.
Thanks Srinath, I'm probably going to crash at my friends place in Lake Wylie for a bit while I'm looking around. From everything I have found so far Charlotte looks pretty reasonable as far as prices. Definately be nice to have a longer riding season.

Ha ha ... lowes motor speedway ... that is the freaking redneck capital of the world ... all those stories I have posted about Harley Idiots shooting their mouth off to me have all been at the gas station off 85 at that exit.
GS 500, yea good luck with that there, rednecks who dont even have harleys, will have you for breakfast. Then the accountants and lawyers that do have harleys will mess up your tax return and then sue your ass.
Cool.

I live in upstate SC.It's ok. NC I feel is a bit cheaper to live.Insurance and taxes seem to be lower in NC,but I guess that depends on what you have.I'd move back to NC if the chance came up.We got good riding areas between SC and NC.If I'd had good tires I could ride almost year round.

IMO I say move down here and set up shop.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Frankie, riding year round is not only realistic it is generally pleasurable.  There are a few days that get nippy though.

I lived in SC for 2 years... The weather was awesome but I found it a bit "Anti North"  Some of the people there are still fighting the civil war. I'm not saying it was all bad, but a big culture shock coming from the north.

That is my zillow. Asking 165K, 3K cash at close. The plan is called a Nautilus and its built by centex.
Now they have these listed at 169+ in the not so good area that is much farther from the speedway too - Gastonia - you dont want gastonia. My house also has 9K builder extras, and 5 windows and a huge patio in the back added by me.
Cool.

Yea, 1 gstwin sticker on each window should take care of that.
BTW there is 16 in that 2800 sqft house and its almost too bright. Centex put just 11 windows in a 2800 sqft house. Some parts were bright and the others were like a dungeon. I'd have like to put 1 more, and not put one of the 5. 16 is ideal, cos I got them placed in the perfect spots.
Cool.
