Need help locating oil leak

Oil is leaking....from somewhere underneath my bike. The oil pan is covered in oil, the the oil filter cover is dirty and oily. What's the best way to find out where it's leaking.

I was thinking about giving it a wash and scrubbing the underbelly then going for a quick spin. What are your thoughts, tips, tricks. Thanks.

wash it down first then maybe run in the driveway for a bit , i would suspect that it might be the filter o-ring poped out as you probably know ! is it clean at the top of the engine ...i.e tack cable ,rocker cover ect?
