I have narrow shoulders and a fat head, so naturally when I put my DOT-approved full face helmet on I look like a total jack@ss. Does anyone else have this predicament? My image really isn't a huge priority, but it's still on the list somewhere...

I have that problem and do not care.So I guess it's not a problem.

Haha I have that problem only when I used HJC helmets. Their damn shell is hella big for some damn reason. Maybe it's time to try another brand.

An armored jacket with large shoulder pads will solve that problem.   :thumb:

now everyone knows my "lankier than thou" secret to not looking like a bean pole ! MC jackets add a good 30-50 lbs of appearance and a solid 20 credits of fear to mere mortals ;)

Haha I have the same helmet. So I guess if you don't want to look like a bobble head then stay away from HJC - at least the cl-sp.

Go with a dark color helmet with a wild design...It'll make it look...ah smaller. :icon_mrgreen: And ditto GS Jack!
Well, either you're part of the problem, part of the solution,...

 Thanks for the sympathies. That's sound advice, GS Jack, but the only problem now is that my head looks really small with the helmet off. I just can't win. I think I'll just suck it up with the helmet that I got. At least it's not a cl-sp  :icon_rolleyes:

SeqArtMark

Phew, I'm glad it's not just me.  I bought an HJC CL-SP around Christmas (still don't have a bike, but it's a start) and I look like a junior space man with the thing on!  I've been trying to convince my wife that I need a new helmet but I haven't even used this one so it's not gonna fly.  Oh well, I guess that's what happens when you impulse buy.

Even with my Icon armor on I still look like an Etheopian.Swollen stomach, fat rump, and water head.I guess that comes with being short and fat.

Hahahahah,  I thought it was just me with the big HJC helmet.  Thats all right, its the newer el diablo helmet and I love the way it performs so far.  As long as I don't dump it and get a pole in the cerebrum I'm fine.
GS500E with a bunch of cool stuff!

So that's why people look at me funny when I'm standing in line at a fast food joint waiting for takeout.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Some of the cheaper helmet lines have more sizes than they do shell sizes. They just change the liners to make them fit smaller head.
Common sense in not very common.

cd

almost ALL helmet manufacturers change liners and shell sizes are the same.

buy a kids l/xl/xxl

harder to find but have smaller shell sizes

dgyver

Shoei uses different shells for each size.

RobTheTyrant

Suomy is the same way... my large suomy  has a smaller shell than my medium Icon and they both fit about the same.  Gotta love the race fit!
Grind the pegs down with asphault!

cd

and shoei s overpriced, wayyyyyyyyy over priced. most companies use 1 shell size.
