Last Wednesday I went to FAST School (local racing school) and had an incredibly awesome day!!!  I took out the R6 which was my first time RIDING (not demoing) any other bike other than my GS.  Sure, in the beginning I was nervous but I got used to the bike quickly.  After a near highside and lowside in my first two laps, I quickly got a hang of the bike and had a blast.  I finally... FINALLY got my knee down!  I tried it on the way home on my GS but it's pointless and very difficult/dangerous I find.  I did pretty damn well on the track considering it was my first time not only on the track, but on a completely different bike as well.  I got awarded the "Top Rider" trophy at the end of the day for improving my skills the most and having the fastest lap times.  I was the only non-sportbike rider in my class so I wasn't exactly expecting this as the other riders weren't bad either.  I can't wait until next year to take the next class.... the track is awesome!

Well I'm in Toronto so I can't suggest anything in MI.  Do a little research to find which is generally thought of as the better place to go and do it locally.  You'll have fun regardless of what level your skills are at.  I was one of the last to book for this season back in January so here anyway, you have to book at least 6 months ahead.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

It was at Shannonville and the name of the school is "FAST Riding School"  It's not cheap, but worth every penny!
