Quote from: seshadri_srinathHey Blueknyt didn't you want to swap some KZ chain and belt drive parts...I have chain parts...need belt parts...Hell I'll buy ya a new chain to go with the sprokets and cush drive if you'll trade.
BTW I am having big issues with its carburetion...it seems to act lean no matter what...idle stays at 4000 once hot, and barely holds idle when cold...but cant get it richened up...Is out on mix screw richer or leaner on it...mine is the LTD and the manual is yet to be found from when I put it in storage...
Cool.
Srinath.

WOW!!!!
the guru of GS BS is having carb trouble.......
are the carb boots rotted? cracked? sounds like air leak
or did you fiddle with it recently?....if yes...stop fiddling with it
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

Blueknyt

Yeah Srinath, i want to dump the belt drive stuff and convert to chain drive.  last we spoke everything was still packed up, so i was waiting for when you were ready. if ya want to send the stuff on down, i will be happy to swap the stuff over and ship back the belt drive parts.  As to the carbs i still dont have the airfilter and carrior that bolts to airbox, i used a small grill with  a layer of cloth over it but its still not right. i did find out its a J model but no one has those parts. so looks like i will have to jet it and K&N it it wont get over 70. pulls ok at low end.

but yes send the parts.  front sproket/spacer (if any) rear carrior/sproket/cush/spacers(just in case different fron belt cog assembly) and chain. it will take me alittle longer as i have to pull the damn swingarm to get the belt off.  I think the belt is the same as some harleys, but cant be sure.  i will PM you with address.

sooner i get this done the better, im gonna have to down my GS,  back when i had chain jump and bunchup in sidecover, it bent shift shaft and busted out part of the lower cases, i dont like an auto chain oiler that much and not happy with total loss lube system. looks like i will be redoing bottom end before long.  but todo that i will have to put the LTD on the road.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

What Guru...I wasn't born with knowledge of carbs ...I learned it all over 3-4 painful months of experimenting (in reality it took me longer making fine adjustments) and in the end I had to validate it with a O2 sensor... getting a nut to fit that thread welded into the pipe...I cant do that with the KZ...I dont want to go through that whole crap. I am trying to see if anyone has any know how to help me avoid months of pain. Anyway The boots are very very nice..they were new in 00 and its been kept indoors (in storage) or kept well oiled and armoralled (I armorall everything) when outside when outside.
Is it to screw it out or screw it in...to make it richer...
I'll round up the parts and send it out. The belt is different from a harley though.
Cool.
Srinath.
