Hey all, so just a quick (annoying) question. Gonna throw a K&N Lunchbox in my bike, and I already have Hindle slip-on can on it. Obviously gonna rejet. Just wondering any thoughts of a good place to start as far as jet sizes?! And also, perhaps a dumb question but I'm no mechanic, how many jets do I need?? Thanks.

...like all things, it depends!  :icon_rolleyes:

If your bike is pre-2001 then you have pilots and mains.  If your bike is 2001+ then you have pilots, mid-mains and mains.  The details of the jet part numbers can be found in the wiki.  Remember that you have 2 carbs so, depending on the year, you will either need 4 or 6 jets!

As for jetting, again it depends on what you have on the bike and the altitude at which you ride.  I am coastal (ie sea-level) and I have the lunchbox and a free-flowing aftermarket exhaust - and I run 22.5/65/147.5, for what it's worth.  It's a pretty common setup around here for that combo.

Cool. Thanks for the replies. Definitely gives me somewhere to start.

Remember to jet for your riding altitude. The higher you are the bigger the jets you'll need.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Just wondering if anyone has found a pictorial of a rejet on a newer F model. The carbs are slightly different than the older models as there are now the mains and the mid mains. Any help would be great. All I've found is older model rejet pictorials. Thanks.

I did mine a week ago, using the reference materials for the old style carb.  There really isn't anything different in the process - simply that there's an extra jet.  You can tell which jet is which simply by looking at the number stamped on it.
