Clutch Issue

Due to swopping my Front ends over , the 2001 gs had dirtbike bars on , would the fact that the clip ones are alot shorter on teh kat front end .  , would make the clutch cable to long ? , and if so , can i swop the 1996 clutch cable over to the 2001 , coz i slipped it into gear 2day , and i couldnt shift back , coz the clutch wasnt working properly , and it wouldnt let me change gears , then i adjustesd it on the lever , and i managed to get it into Netrual agen

Have you tried rerouting the cable.I believe all the clutch cables are the same,not 100% on that tho.
