I have a couple of questions about these megecycle cams that i found from some link on here. I have a 97 and a 89 gs-500 and i was wondering if by and chance it fits either of these engines. I have extensively rebuilt both, and the engines and identical. If you know and information on which cam fits and functions better please let me know im looking and at making one a club racer or just a really fast gs...well for a gs anyways. Much appreciated.

They will fit in any year GS500.

The .438" lift cams require clearance in the cam gallery. You will need to use the heavier valve springs to reduce valve float, plus you gain about 2k rpms redline. Higher lift cams do not do much without increasing compression. 79mm are the largest pistons able to fit in the stock sleeve, but they are not made any more unless you have them custom made. 78mm GPZ pistons will fit with minimal mod.

I have a set of the .417" lifts and run high comp pistons. Originally ran them with 78mm (541cc) and will run them with 80mm (569cc) in my current build. I had a set in a previous 555cc motor using 79mm pistons.
Common sense in not very common.
