Well I hate my FuKing insurance agent.    Well I first had a vw bug and went with my dads insurance company and the agent told me "Since its an old bug it needs to be checked out by a mechanic to make sure its in good working order.  I have got a friend that will do it for you for $20"  I said wtf?!? so my Girlfriends mechanic drove it around the block and I paid him $10 to write a little letter saying it wont fall apart.

After I sold that I got my GS and Got insurance through Progressive with him as my agent (bad move).  I paid $320yr for basic insurance.  Now a year later my Insurance is $470yr with different coverage, coverage I did not want. etc.  But He put it on there.  Does anyone know who I can contact to get him turned in or looked into for being a crooked agent?!?  Thanks. :thumb:

state insurance licensing board.  all insurance agents have to be licensed by the state they work in.

Contact Progressive and talk to them and bypass your agent.

As them what and why you are paying more than last year.

They should be able to help you out and if your agent is screwing you they will do something to fix it.

I wouldn't expect people at progressive to be too smart. They just sent me a refund for $0.23, spending $0.32 for postage.

I'd call the people who regulate  the insurance in your State Jeff.

Have you called this guy to ask him what the hell is going on??It could be a clerical error.....(MAYBE).

A year or two ago I had allstate (actually had them for 8 years or more)- They decided to change my adress to an adress in the heart of Baltimore. I don't Live in Baltimore at all. They QUADRUPLED my insurance rates for my bike ( but they didn't change my adress on my Trucks policy).I had and have a clean driving record. I called them to get it fixed. "Well we can't give you the same discounts you had before" was what they said and wouldn't lower my rates back to where they were.
The next day I had State Farm Insurance. I also saved about 140$ a year ( I have a bike and 2 trucks on my policy.).

Allstate seems to want out of the motorcycle insurance market.

Call the guy and see if he will fix it...I'd also call State Farm (They go by displacement of the bike not if it's a sport bike or cruiser or whatever...).
When the 2nd Amendment is lost, the rest will soon follow.

When I got the bike, my wife called our Allstate agent (10 yrs, 2 cars, home, flood) and added the bike at an high price. I priced Progressive online and asked if Allstate could match the price. He said no and suggested I put the bike on Progressive. I did.

Insurance premiums for nearly identical coverages are all over the map...it's a pain in the butt-ola, but you've just got to compare and compare...and don't be afraid to ask an agent to match a similar quote, and for every discount available.  After all, an agent's commission is derived from your total premium.  Do the math.
