Hello all,

Currently working on finding a couple of rubber gaskets that go under the speedometer and tachometer - mine have been beat up by elements and both units vibrate around the opening. I did receive an order from local store but it seems that I got gaskets for inside of the units (34288-01D20)... I'm attaching an image to clarify things...

Same part for any year GS500

Part #5:   DAMPER   34288-01D20 (replaces 34288-01DA0)    $5.85

Seems you have the right part. You can remove the tach easily. To remove the speedo, you have to remove the trip meter. You need a phillips long jeweler's screw driver. It is a TINY screw in there. Use a dot of blue thread lock when you put it back on.

Sweet - thanks for the confirmation on the part and tip for the speedo, need to get me some tiny screw drivers.

Thread lock on a screw that size?....you may as well use Superglue!

Did it have thread lock on it when it left the factory?......go figure.

If you are worried about it loosening off use a shake proof washer on it.......at least you will be in with a chance of getting it out again in the future if you need to  :dunno_black:
