What type of wrench do people use to get the plug off the sump for an oil change? My 20mm lug wrench doesn't quite fit, and nothing else gets around the pipes quite right.  :icon_confused:

This (and many more) questions have been answered in our Wiki. Here's about oil change (which BTW I partially contributed)
http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Maintenance/ChangeOil

There's a quick quote for you on the subject: "Use 21mm socket wrench to remove the oil drain bolt (caution, exhaust pipes will be HOT!). The GS500F may have a 17mm oil drain bolt..."
GS500E 1999,  progressive springs w/ 15w fork oil, shortened rear fender and blinkers, F16 Touring windshield, NC wind deflectors, 40 pilots/127.5 mains, DIY ignition advancer, POR-15 treated tank, SV650 mirrors, 15T front sprocket, G-Shock handlebar watch, tankbra, tankbag, saddlebags, fuel filter

Thanks reminor.

Feel like a complete fool now. Can't tell you how many times I've read that article. The wiki was my procrastination device till I found this forum. Awesome work.
