HEY ALL, I'M FAIRLY NEW TO THE GSTWIN SITE, BUT I'M NOT NEW TO THE GS500.

So what are your options for an exhaust system on a Suzuki GS500? You can buy a Vance and Hines system, but you'll have to replace the entire exhaust and probably re-jet the carbs due to the change in exhaust header size. You'll also spend $400-500 for this system. Wouldn't it be nice to just buy a slip on pipe like our GSXR friends? NOW YOU CAN. KG CUSTOMS makes an exhaust system that will allow you to purchase any slip on pipe and lets you simply bolt it on your GS500.

I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT I MAKE A CUSTOM EXHAUST PIECE THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO PUT ANY SLIP-ON PIPE ON YOUR BIKE.  ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SEND ME YOUR CURRENT EXHAUST SYSTEM AND I WILL BEND AND WELD AN ADAPTER PIECE ON WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO PUT WHATEVER SLIP-ON YOU DECIDE TO PURCHASE.  RIGHT NOW I'M CHARGING $170.00 TO DO THIS WHICH INCLUDES PAINT- THE COLOR OF YOUR CHOICE.  I WILL SEND AN UNFINISHED MODEL BACK FOR $130.00.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR WANT TO SEE PICS, FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME AT COBRAR980@GMAIL.COM

HERE'S ONE THAT I'VE DONE ON EBAY: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35596&viewitem=&item=300216710534&_trksid=p3907.m29

                                                                        THANKS ALL,
                                                                               KG CUSTOM

Looks pretty good. Would you be able to make the piece you added slip on to the system after the collector that way we wouldn't have to send our pipe to you? Just a thought, good work.

I was about to flame but it does look really good. I just think its too much time/hassle/cost to ship you all that stuff because of the down time. Can you just make a bolt on piece that does the same thing?

Yea, thats what i've been noticing.  I did a few this winter.....being in Ohio, we go without riding for 3-4 months so downtime during those months isn't a problem.  I can make the correct pipe with the bends for ya and you can just buy an exhaust clamp from autozone or something, which isn't a bad idea, I personally don't like the look of a clamp sitting on there, but thats personal preference, and I guess you really don't see it all that much being under the bike as it would be.  Let me talk to my partner in crime and see what we can sell that piece for.........THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you're open to new ideas. I'd prefer to weld your mid pipe to my header rather than use a clamp as well. Essentially what you've already done just with use doing half the work.

I think you have a great product but its not just downtime. I checked and its 48$ for me to ship to you. Thats 48$ +130$.

theres a lot of different factors but having a clamp isnt that big of a deal.

Yamahon - as a 1 off, anything is doable. I have noticed that GS'ers and I must admit it depends on the part of the country you are at cos I know in some places the welding/muffler shops will not go 10 feet of a bike, tend to shy away from things that are not drop in.
BTW I can start the flanges again, but I need to have 1 can I am making them for. The plates have to be made. Anyone have a sourec for cans - remember the wileyco's were $50 a can out of ebay and plenty were around, and flanges were $40 and shipping, making for a $100 slip on exhaust.
However no more wileyco's meant no more cheap slip on's. Anyone find me a can ... and I'll start the flanges again.
Cool.

ill be in for the piece you need to weld on in order to have a slip on.... O0

The Buddha

I am assuming this was meant for me ...
I never had to weld anything on.
Hey shipping the pipe to me will just waste your $$ ... and that freaking pos is $$$ ...
I make a pipe that goes on your header ... I can only say ... show me a can, or better yet, show a can to the 1000's here, and I'll make them. I can make a 100 easier than make 1-2. The problem was, no cans. I mean at $100 a pipe it was sensible, cos most people only paid  a few 100 for the whole bike ...
Anyway, make me a 20 count order and I'll crank them out in the mid/high $40 range ... make it 50 count and there is no telling what I can make and sell it for. OK OK make it $40 or so.
Cool.
