Bleed or non-bleed jets?

So yeah, I've searched the threads, found my answer and then found another answer that contradicted the first. So, if someone could put some resolution to this question, I would be much appreciative.
Are our jets of the bleed type (the jets with holes drilled along the sides) or of the non-bleed type (no holes along the sides)? Does it matter what model year the bike is? According to my search, there is but that is where the contradiction occurred, where one person stated that pre-2001 bikes used non-bleed type, and 2001+ used bleed type and someone else stated the opposite (1989-2000 used bleed, and 2001+ non-bleed). Also, are all three jets of the same type or can they be different (i.e. the pilot is bleed but the main and/or mid-main is non-bleed type)?

ohgood

the jets i pulled out of my 98 are non-bleed. which contradicts typical things, since the ones i ordered are also non-bleed. usually, whatever i order is wrong, so this is really weird for me, you know, having matching parts and all. ;)

dgyver

I have only used non-bleed jets on the 2-circuit carbs, which IIRC are the 89-00.
Common sense in not very common.

In this thread http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=12928.0 in the FAQ section, one of Pablo's posts has Piper5157's Stage 3 jetting setup and has for his pilot a bleed-type jet. But my feeling is that 2001+ bikes also use non-bleed and perhaps Piper5157 was looking for more fuel flow from the pilot jet without going to a larger size jet. He has listed a #20 pilot and for his set up, that would seem on the small side, but with a bleed type jet, that would give him adequate fuel at idle to go along with all the increased airflow from his pod filters and super-sport exhaust.

Thanks guys. I'm just gonna go ahead and order non-bleed then.

Ok, wait, just read here http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id52.html, on the second line, that 2001+ due indeed come with stock 17.5 bleed type pilot jets. So, does that mean the main and mid-main are also bleed-type? My feeling is no but just want to make sure.
