lowering the front end

So I used to have clip-ons under my top triple and also hade the forks moved down about an 1 1/2 so the frontnd was lower than the rear. Now with my Sm2's the front end is level with the rear and I feel like im sitting upright. is their anyway I can lower the frotnend with sm2's?

loosen triples pull forks up.  thats about the only way. not the best way but it will work

I had that but with SM2's you cant only lowe about a 1/2 inch or maybe less.

What he's saying is the tubes will hit the bars.
You would prolly have to use fork risers, or lower the forks internally, which I don't know if you can on a GS.

Bout the only way is going to be maybe straping the front end or going back to clipons

I did that accidentally when I was installing springs once. (Measured wrong, I fixed it though) Had to say that because I just sold the forks. The bike sat lower, but I don't know if that would be a bad thing for your suspension. Probably bottom out a lot. You could maybe put some stiffer springs in and use short spacers, like 1.0 kg/mm.

You could use handle bar risers that move the bars foward or backward to clear the top of the fork tubes.Just becarefull how much you move the forks up in the triple clamps.When you hit a bump or hole, the sliders and fender mount will nail the headlight and lower triple.

So the Katana shock isn't enough to give you forward bias? Thought it raised the rear some inch and a half

Lowering the FE more than 1/2 inch is a good way to start clobbering stuff in the FE.
Like my neighborhood bling bling brothers who lower their hayabusa's 4 inches in front and first off the fork legs comming up through the top triple looks like sheite and the first time they run over a "feature" on our beautiful roads, they have crunched the front fender into the tire using the headlight a as bettring ram. beautiful bling that..
So when the brothers say "Its gotta be slammed" ... when they say that, now I know what it means.

yeah the shock does raise the rear but having the stock fork setup gives me a feeling of sitting upright. I was used to my clip-ons under the triple and the front lowered 1 1/2 felt good, the bike barley bottomed out no fender issue and the bike fell inot the turn alot better

Yea ... swap over to katana FE and lower it 6 inches and scrape your knuckles along the road ... yea ... open bones on your knuckles ... that's the new jewelry ... You chrome your knuckles for extra bling.

You can only move the fork tubes up about an inch before the seal wiper hits the botton triple clamp at full fork compression.  Recent post:

GenMar risers would get the bars out of the way but you can get almost that much room with an extra set of bar clamps under the bars.  See Wiki.  Did that on my 97 GS when I transferred the GenMars to the 02 GS.
