The kat front wheel 89-97 is the same as the GS.98+ will work but it's tight. http://www.gs-500.info/index.php?title=GSX_600/750_F_rim_in_original_GS_fork You may need to translate this to english.I use Firefox 3 beta 5 and it does it automaticly.

Here is the info on the Kat rear wheel swap. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=25426.msg388101
PICS are GONE never TO return.

The Buddha

600 kat front wheel = GS front wheel.
You need the white plastic cap from the GS wheel ... that is not there on the kat wheel.
Cool.

This link not so much, i've read it a thousand times.
the advantage TURD had was that he started with a complete rim set from "srocket to disk"
if i get this rim for almost nothing it comes with nothing so i want to know:
Which is the better investment
    pick up a naked rim
        OR
hold out for a complete rim set

What do you mean by "complete rim set"

I also thought you were buying the front wheel ...
Anyway a Kat Front wheel has 2 disks that are smaller diameter than the GS's disk. The disks off a kat front wheel are unuseable on a GS front end. You have to have a Kat FE or use the GS'es wheel and disk.

complete set = rear rim from sprocket to disk.

im all set on the font rim. i might just get it just to have it for the f/e mod

but now the rear wheel is the question

You use the gs sprocket carrier, you'll have to shim the sprocket out. The only other kat parts you need are the brake rotor, and maybe the Cush drive rubbers, though you may be able to use the gs's, I'm not sure

Here's what my wheel looked like.

As you can see, all it had were the bearings and cush rubbers. I got a rotor for like $20, that's all I had to buy.

Uh, if you're talking about the one you're trying to buy from me, it's the entire rear wheel - including axle, bearings, spacers, cush drive, sprocket, sprocket carrier, hell even a chain if you want it!  Anyway, like others have said, you use the sprocket and carrier from the GS, just shim the sprocket out and bend the brake torque arm to clear the tire.

Not to be a smartass, but you could've just asked me...I had it on my bike
