handel bars moving

ok can someone go outside and see how much movements in the bars http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/showschematic/m6060sch240837 where the fork tubes come up though the upper trpple . i understand that this is rubber mounted , mine are tight (the bolts that tie everything together) but i don't think there should be the  movement that i'm getting

I haven't had the stock bars on my bike in quite some time, but as I recall, there was hardly, if any movement at all. You're sure all the bolts are tight?

yes they are tight , i was just wondering on how much they are supposed to move to cut down on the vibrations

Maybe someone could go out and give theirs a good shake, but I don't remember mine moving at all really.

Your bars should not move at all. If they are moving, something is loose

That's right.



Your rubber dampners,on the top plate, may be shrinking and dry rotting.Even tho the bolts are tight the bad rubber bushings could be bad.The nuts bottom out on the shoulder of the bolt to keep from crushing the bushings.

took it apart last night and i shortened the spacers in there and seems to have worked ... with no detramental effects of vibrations though
the bars , the rubbers were still good and not rotted but just some wear on them
