The article says it is similar to the segway in ways such as leaning to make it go turn etc. I was a Segway trainer at the mouse in fact was one of the first people in the world to demonstrate it to the public. The segway only had a top speed of 15mph which felt more like 30 when you're on it. If this monocycle works on the same premise as the segway it would be very hard being that it used four tilt sensors that constantly measure where your feet are on the platform.  IE. much like walking before you take a step you shift your weight and that is what the segway responds to. Looking at how your feet are in the picture they are always tilted forward does that mean that you cannot stop.

From other pictures it looks like it is running on 12 "D" batteries on the segway that would get you maybe ten minutes. In the segway the entire base is one battery on the Ni-MH you would get about 12 miles on a flat surface. With Li-ion you would get about 17. Even if it did have these batteries it seems heavier than a segway which is 86lbs .This machine looks way more than that then add  rider and gear. Get the picture.

Seems like a cool concept just don't think we will be hopping on one anytime soon! I'm also curious as to why only this website took pics of it being that it supposedly happened at the 2008 Toronto National Motorbike show. In the age of the net I'm sure there would be more than one set of photos up. Somethin' just don't seem right. Just my two cents

If I had the $3000 though I'd get a segway in a heart beat esp for college campuses and my work!

That's awesome toogoofy! I still can't believe the segway actually works. This thing looks far more insane. Does the S have controls on the bars? Apparently this thing is controlled only by your position, which sounds crazy/intense. I think it's a cool concept though.

The guy who designed it is really young too (like teens).   . He got help, but still.
