My pilgrimage.

I am a giant dork.  I have never apologized for this before, and I don't intend to now... I just traveled 3000 miles to leave one small piece of metal on the grave of a person who never shared this planet with me.  His writings and example have made an impact on my life that I can't describe in a post to the internet.  It would take volumes.  If you think he was just a movie star, I suggest you think again... and read his work.   You are missing out on the thoughts of a brilliant philosopher whose light was extinguished far too soon.

Are you a student of or have you studied with Dr. Beasely?

I had a great time meeting and working out with Joe Lewis, Ted Wong and Jerry Beasely along with Meeting and having drinks with Bill Wallace when the school where I was assistant instructor at held a summer camp back in 95.

I had a blast!  It is very likely the only vacation I will get all year, so I decided to go long-range and see someplace that I have never been.  I always wanted to visit Seattle, so it seemed like a good choice.  I only had two days in town, so I hit the classics:  Pike Place Market and the Space Needle, and of course I made my run to Capitol Hill to see the view from Volunteer Park and of course spend a few minutes with my buddy Bruce. 

I also discussed the weather with a dude in a dress, saw a guy fire up a doobie at a bus stop in broad daylight, sat on the sidewalk for an hour hanging with a blind guitar player in the market and watched a soccer match in an authentic Irish pub with an authentic English dude explaining the rules as it went on.  I really had a great time.  Seattle did good this week

I spent a lot of time in Tang Soo Do, studying with Al DaSilva who is/was a student of Mater Roberts.

I am familiar with Beasely, but never met him.  I did study with an associate of his, Ian Marshal, when he had a school in Blacksburg, VA.  We had Joe Lewis for a seminar in 1997.  He was great: a really phenomenal athlete.

that looks like it was a really cool trip. i had no idea Bruce was buried there. and no clue his son was with him as well. but it seems fitting. wow. you really can learn things on the internet.
