 :dunno_white:
ok, folks.  Here is the short version.  I purchased my GS new in 1990.  Only got to ride it a little bit in Texas and then moved to Arkansas (retired @ 36).  Better roads for riding anyway.  A short few thousand miles later I was crushed in an accident.  Non bike related.  Crushed between my truck and a trash truck at the gas station.  Anyway I can't ride anymore.  No bikes, no quads, no horses, nothing I have to straddle.

I mothballed the bike in 1998 and I have finnally come to grips with the fact I should sell her and let someone else enjoy her.  She was great!  Dealer installed racing Jets and better exhaust.  WHAT A RIDE SHE WAS!

I need some help from you folks.  I need a short list of what to check and replace before I start her up again.  Then what to look and listen for on the test ride.  My brother will do the actual riding.

She is still pretty.  There are a few scratches from her falling over while in storage.  She is red with the pearl white highlights.  I could also use some advice on a price to ask for her once she is running again.
I am pretty mechanically inclined, just not much history working on bikes.

Her sticker says she was born in july of 1989.  Thanks in advance for your help.  Great site!

Resigned to a cage.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.   I am glad you are giving the GS to your brother; I am sure he will love it.

For now, I was able to find this thread lists some common issues to look for:

Good luck! We'd love to see some pictures!

edit:
Here's another thread that talks about common mothball issues:

Thanks folks.  I will try to post some photos as soon as I get her back on her feet.  By the way, I am not giving her away to my brother.  He will have to do the test drive since I cannot.  Then she is up for sale.  That is why I was curios about pricing for a GS with 2700 miles, dated a 1990 but made in 1989.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

thanks again
