GS500E (2007) - windscreen?

I've looked in the search results and even found a post from mine from a while ago that was unanswered. I am really stuck here.

Basically, I want a small little windscreen for my naked 2007 GS500. Just a little one that fits over the headlight.

Anyways, I found a similar looking one on the 2007 SV650 that I really like. Does anyone know if it fits on my bike? Here is a photo of it:

I know there are some small GIVI ones I have seen in catalogues, but I was just woindering if I could go to my local dealer and request this part.

AFAIK the lights are the same size so it *should* fit.
I have been known to be wrong on such things in the past though...

Doesn't look like it would bolt right on the GS, it mounts to parts that mount to the SV headlight bracket like this:

Stop at the dealer and look at a SV that has one.

Something like the NC Flyscreen would be a bolt on if you want something small:

looks really nice,
I think it would fit with few adjustments.
I also have a very small windscreen on my gs you can see what I did to it in the pictures dept. of members bikes. I placed the pictures a few months ago.

trademark is from Canada and you can still buy a one naked there.

I prefer a naked GS myself and although it seems a waste of $ to buy a faired one and strip it, how else can you get a naked 500 twin of any kind except a cruiser in the US?

I got a couple years of miles left in my 02 GS and then I might do the F to E thing myself.  Will have parts needed to convert from my 02 GS.  I don't want any bike wrapped in plastic.

Just got my 08 Cycle World Buyers Guide and went thru it, what a bunch of crap, choices narrow every year for anything but image bikes.  The all American cruisers and sport bikes.  Here riding a bike seems to be secondary to showing it.

i love the protection the plastic gives me and running into wind really makes you appreciate the fairing.  but if you prefer a naked bike then i understand.  but the sv650 comes naked, looks and works great!

Ya I am from Canada so I walked into my dealership here last July and said I didn't want the F I wanted the E. They called someone and voila, I had one a few days later.

Being a relatively small girl I just found the F to be too bulky where the fairing was. Maybe call me crazy, but it just adds weight to the bike and I love the "streetfighter/naked" bike look. It's just the screen I want to add (for now).

I think the GS500 looks ridiculous with fairings because of the engineering stand point. If you are going to put fairings on it then upgrade the suspension on both ends just a little bit.

having owned 2 e models and one f model i can say that the f gets more "nice bike" talk/looks.  also it is much easier to handle at higher speeds or to hide behind during cold in climate weather

You mean a Buell Blast screen, but i prefer the Ducati Monster.

There's a photo of my Duc. screen at the top of this thread and one of a Blast near the bottom.

i'm sincerely not into it for compliments.  it's enough to have the kids in the 'hood wave excitedly at me as i ride by. :)

Hmm...decisions, decisions.  Buell, Ducati...I am not sure but do the french models exist on this side of the ocean?

I guess I am looking for the one that is the easiest to install? I am not that crafty in the "modding" dept. since I am a girl, but at the same time I would ideally like something that definitely fits. :)

and  to 905mike!

ohgood

This is an older model sv650 flyscreen. If you start looking on craigslist and ebay, you may be able to find one similar for $30-40, like I did.

Any screen that is designed for a 7 inch headlight will fit.
Try PUIG, they do some great gear. Had a dark tinted one of theirs on my last suzuki, and they are a doddle to fit, and look great.
Have you considered fitting an all in one light/screen (bikini/nose fairing)?
