Here is the pics.
The top triple has been modded to take a GS guage set with the stock grommets.
The stem has been machined out and shortened from the bottom, and new bearings have been installed.
The headlight ears are modded to fit on a Kat FE with the GS grommet. In fact that grommet is the only part I am not happy with. A Bandit or a GSX1100G grommet will be perfect. I used the GS grommet, its a bit stretched out.
Its a direct fit, on a GS and locks, steering stops and all of it works.
I just need a couple parts of the GS back. Top triple and headlight ears. Those are modded to get the kat one to work on the GS.
More pics can be gotten as can pics during removal.
Cool.

That is the infamous GR650 engine. Some welding required.
I cut the T brace and made it unboltable so I can do a valve adjustment with it still in the frame.
Anyway, the forkseals aren't leaking and are original AFAIK, and a brake system is included. The wheel isn't unless you need a wheel. Its same as the GS and costs like $50 to ship.
In fact that FE is sold, but I have another like it, and am building a couple more.

Get a set of pipes off something, I think I used R1 or hayabusa, chop off the headers 3-4 inches from the head. Then I believe I cut the head collar in 1/2 then it needs to be ground a bit and then fit it. Whatever I used, it was matched to the GR head using my GR exhaust before I bought it. Dont remember now, it was 8 months ago.
BTW a head swap is crazy, far too many things dont match. I had a intake valve I had to replace on the GR and it was still easier than the head swap.

Yea GR ... 1 year only bike. See I also am skeptical about the gains with the 650 motor, yea be more torque, however will it rev as quick as the GS and will it be worth the extra weight.
BTW my next mod is a GR rear wheel, so I can run 16 inch tars ... mwhahahahaha ...
Cool.
