Hi guys,
I've had my bike for about 4 months but unfortunately have only had the chance to ride it the first 2 months or so... some lady hit me :(
I was hit on the right side and the bike isn't too badly off.

I will post pictures up tommorow when I borrow the digicam off my friend but for now I need to know where to find parts.

First of all I was hit on the right side and the "SUZUKI" sign (ignition I'm guessing?) is broken off and inside the gold plate is bent, only has one black little sensor on it (brown/black wire I believe) and the bolt going towards the engine is broken off and spins when I try to fire the bike. (bike doesn't start and I'm guessing its because of this little thing)

apart from that, gas tank is dented, handler bar is very crooked and can/frame/plastic is scratched.

Now what I really need is somewhere to located this ignition? plate and bolt.. and a handlebar(everything on the handlebar is fine except for a black end on the gas trigger)

wooo.. sorry for the long post.

last question.. my front forks are bent :( is it still rideable? if not, how much are forks.. everything else if fine..

Thanks for your time
Dave

would not suggest riding with bent forks. even if it looks like they are good. it could make it behave very funky.

Since you're not going to the dealer for parts I assume she's not paying (or her insurance co.) for damage?

Bolt at ignition (yes, you were right, its the ignition) is a real problem if it really is broken off. Thats a big fix...you'll have to try getting it off to see if yo ucan get the remants out.

For parts try www.bikebandit.com or Ron Ayers for cheaper prices. BEST PRICES though can be had at Parts Depot (800 number you can find it for sale section, good vendor's thread), talk to robert. You may have to look up part numbers though-that is easiest to do on bikebandit.com though.

There are people here who are parting out a bike(s) or who may be soon (pkaaso?). Thats best place to get replacement forks, exhaust, and any other bits you can. Handlebars can be had at www.flandersco.com (superbike bars or drag bars are nice; lower than stock or you can get stock replacements there too.)  If the only thing damaged on handlebar is black end you're best off gettting the bar end weight from a used bike being parted, it screws into handlebars. you should check handlebars for straightness.

Also-DONT ride on damaged forks. Could be Very dangerous.

Why isn't she paying?

[btw-long post? you havent read some of the threads here, have you?LOL... :thumb: ]

glad you werent hurt badly (you werent, were you?) hope you get it on the road again quickly.

I usually just get my poarts in Calgary from a Suzuki dealer. By the time you pay the exhange, shipping, and brokerage fees on the OEM parts from the US, the hassle isn't worth it. They've been able to get anything I need in 3 or 4 days.

There are used parts floating around if you are trying to repair crash damage. Things like the ignition cover are always the first to go, so they are rare used.

I have right side tail sections in 3 colors...2 original and 1 painted...20 bux for the good ones (no cracks or broken tabs) and 10 for the bad...(dunno why you'd want these but hey) If you want one lemme know...BTW I dont have anyhting else.
Cool.
