no start after rejet

I installed a lunchbox and a straight through slipon.  Ok, the bike started but was running really lean, I knew I need a rejet.  I picked up a K&N rejet kit.  I followed the instructions on it carefully (stage 3, required installing a 135 main which I thought was a little small, new needles and a washer, and then plugging up the two holes to the side of the needle, and setting the mixture screw out 2.5 turns).  I then found the instructions of what to do on here (oops).  anyways, just wondering if this kit sucks, if I just did it completly wrong and should remove the plugs and just jet it like the instructions say.  or what.  also, do the washers go ontop of the c clip or below it, neither the instructions or the jet kit said.

Sorry for your purchase.  Rejet kits are over priced crap.You need 142.5/40/1 washer on the stock needle.Washers go between c clip and plastic spacer.That kit is for an all stock bike except for the air filter.

^^ what he means is the plastic stepped washer (it helps align the needle in the slide) on top, then c clip in the needle, then the stainless steel washer under that, followed by the bottom plastic aligning washer.  you know what, a picture is worth 1,000 words:

that's what I thought.  oh well, that's how it goes.  Do you think that I need to replace the plastic piece that the needle rides in since I had to drill out the two holes on the side just slightly, or does the size of those holes not really matter?  I'm sorry, I'm not used to working on carbs.

Also note, a Dynojet 135 is not equivilent to a Mikuni 135 main, plus the new needle means you can't go by the wiki/forum suggested jetting numbers unless you roll back to Mikuni jets and needles.

I also made the mistake of buying a jet kit, I would love to just rejet it normally but I drilled my slides.  So I have no idea what jets I would need.
