Did I just flooded my carbs?

Tried to start the bike (93 GS) today, but wouldn't stay running even w/ the chock open.  I had to continuously give it gas w/ the choke on  to keep it from dying.  Next thing you know, my buddy tells me "is it suppose to drip liquid like that?"  Now there's a small puddle of gas forming under the bike.  I stopped it right away, and tried to restart it w/out giving any gas w/ the crank open and with it closed with no luck.  Couldn't pin point exactly where the gas was coming from, but could be from between the air filter and the carb.  So what did I break now?  and how do I go about fixing it?  I checked the site, and it sounds like the carbs are flooded?  What do you guys think? thanks,

stuck float perhaps?, and when was the last time the carbs were THOROUGHLY cleaned?

bingo... that, and prolly needs a new float needle, once the tip deteriorates, it can flood things. or the choke circuit is moofed (don't think so) or the float's o-rings are shot.

thanks the the suggestions, the carb was throughly cleaned 2 years ago.  anything quick I can do in the meantime to get the bike ridable to the mechanics?  BTW, the bike has been running flawlessly beside a slight starting issue before this.  thanks,

which carb kit should I be getting?  only thing I see for the GS500 is the FLOAT VALVE kit.  Anything else I should be replacing with the carb out?  Partsnmore requires a $35 min order anyways

I've never needed a carb kit.It's rare for parts to go bad.Do you have bad internal parts?
