Kaz: I never said that Duc's were the best bang for the buck.  Just like Ferrari's aren't the best bang for the buck.  Both have a strong heritage and both have that unique feel only an Italian machine has. Better or Worse, Italian anything is always distinctly Italian.  IMO, the prestige is worth the extra couple of dollars here and there.  I can't leave my bike anywhere without coming back to it a few minutes later to see someone checking it out.  Take a trip to the 'motherland' of motorsports and soak it in, then say that the heritage and prestige isn't worth it and I'll respect your opinion.  Did you know that it's legal to slap a woman's ass randomly as long as it is an act of passion, in Italy.   More practically, catch your next demo day at the closest Duc dealer and take a spin on one.  It changes things, I don't care if it's the fastest (which is good because a 750ss is far from fast in the sportbike world) or the newest (like yama points out, an old 308GT is still a Ferrari and has tons of heritage and prestige to it) it is the best bike in my eyes.

Bucks:  you're a tool.

Wreckhog: Don't let people talk you out of a Duc, it'll nag at you forever if you do.  I would suggest finding one for sale privately that will let you test ride with cash in hand.  Short of the bike having a major problem you won't leave that test ride with your cash.  Tons of guys on the Ducati board have shelled out the cash on a bike before even throwing a leg over it, you see it in person and realize it can be yours and something just comes over you.  Like I said, any questions from fair prices to tech shaZam!, just shoot me a PM and I'll do my best to help.

most ducs aside from the race bred stuff are easy, ( almost as easy as a gs btw) to work on. and terry, im well aware of teh slapping on the ass law. lol, i had an italian born co worker, after becoming aware of that "law". tis how i greeted her,  :icon_twisted: ( and what a fine ass it was  :icon_mrgreen: , and she actually ahem, liked it :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:

I would definitely say that working on my 750ss would be no harder than on a GS if the GS was FI.  It's just different.

Yeah, Italian women are freaks, god bless em.
