Gone until June 11

I'll be leaving with  my wife and stepdaughter for Europe later this afternoon.  We'll be gone until June 10.  I'll be back online on the 11th sometime.  I hope everyone can survive without my liberal rants until then.   Try to contain your grief at my absence.

We'll be in Germany until June 5, then Paris until the 10th.  Unfortunately, no cycle riding this trip.  Someday I want to do one of those tours that provide a BMW touring bike and support vehicles, then take you through the Alps, etc.  A regular trip to Europe (even visiting friends as we are) is expensive enough; those cycle trips are $$$.

I'll enjoy at least one beer in Deutschland for you.  One of the places we'll be is Munich, so there's always the Hofbräuhaus!

Actually, I'm always amazed at the variety and quality of regional beers in Germany.  Every area has its own favorite, and they're all excellent.  Same with the sausages -- every region has its own style and taste.  Worth trying (even if you know what goes into sausages...).
