Here you go everyone, sorry it took so long with the camera ran out of battery yesterday before taking the pictures.  But start firing this post up again, comments, suggestions, and we always of course love praises!  Let us know if we are going to have the 15 people interested.

And to answer the other questions, the straps will be mounted to the inside of the cowl, and will extend under the seat (Straps extending outside the cowl...would defeat the concept, we wouldn't do that to you).

I'm guess you would have to remove the metal hand grip for this to work?

That looks pretty dang good!  :thumb: :thumb:

Cowl Tech - if you can, you should try to borrow someone's F model to put that thing on and photograph. Since that cowl's for the 2001+, the majority will be for GS riders with fairings. Not all, but most. Just a thought.

(So when are you going to start working on one for the pre-2001s?  :icon_mrgreen: )

Yep - I'd love that too and based on the design shown above, here's my earlier Photoshop addition to my own GS500F....

The cowltech Cowl look a tad higher but gives an overall impression I think of how it'd look...(I tinted the cowl blue so it can be seen but as my bike is white, it'd be slapped on "stock" i.e. the plain white colour the cowl comes in (I assume it does come in white???) and then add some decals...

Photo removed.

looks good.  I see no need for pics on an F model ??? It looks the same as an E, just imagine some plastic crap straped on the sides of that pretty naked bike  8)

Or, imagine a good looking faired bike minus the good looking fairings which enhance the look of the naked bike AND keep off the wind and rain  :thumb:

Bluelespaul I appreciate you starting it off, yes obviously imagine it on your bike, especially once painted!  They will come in the color you see there unless of course you want us to paint match your cowl for an additional cost.  We decided to keep it low profile as requested, so please do as Bluelespaul has started and take your name and reply with copying the names in front of you so we can get our numbers setup and we can get these going for ya'll.

so how much does color matching add to the price?

brighteyes67

Hey Cowl Tech, since I paid mine in full 10 weeks ago (after so many misinformed info. and avoided phone calls) can I get mine shipped now, by the way i was charged $159. plus painting over the phone 10 weeks ago, it looks like I was over charged if your charging $140 here.

fatboy420

How many inches of seat from front to back does this cowl leave?

Karry

Cowl Tech

fatboy420-Please elaborate on what your question is asking so that I can answer it properly.  The cowl starts where the hump flattens out on the start of your "rear seat" and extends all the way back as shown in the picture.  Let me know if that helps you.

Brighteyes67- Once we start getting the people setup for the group buy (which is an offer only on this forum, as a thank you for letting us help you with your bikes), we will gladly refund you the difference in pricing, being a member of this forum, and knowing that we were custom making this part as a request, and that you were pre-ordering.  Please feel free to PM me so that we can get you information regarding when you should be receiving your cowl.

For everyone looking to get theirs painted we have the paint codes associated for your bikes, I will post the list right here for you so it's easy to find and identify:

Alright everyone I tried the best I could to organize that, so for paint we are will price it based upon the stage you have, if you have a:
Three Stage - $240 Shipped (Continental US)
Single Stage - $220 Shipped (Continental US)

We do not use a wet stage paint job, this paint process includes your (High Build Primer(2-3 Coats), Wet Sand, Base Coat (3-5 Coats), Top Coat (3-5 Coats) (If it's a 3 Stage Paint), and Clear Coat (2-4 Coats).  Please feel free to check out our videos on www.youtube.com/cowltech to see our full paint process/paint mixing room/and professional paint booth.

Also remember this is the pricing considering we get the 15 people setup to purchase. (Please continue Bluelespaul's lead in informing who will be joining on this group buy, and placing next to your name whether or not you want it painted)

For those in the UK, please add an additional $20 for shipping (we will ship it marked as a gift to help you individuals out as well)

Thanks and let me know any other comments/suggestions/praise and let's start racking up the names to the list, and allowing us to aid in making the GS bikes look and gain the attention that you and we feel they deserve.

Is it just me or those that look a little funky ?

Would it not be easier and look better to have a complete seat made up instead of " pretending " that it is half a seat ?

bluelespaul

for fucks sake we were on this guys case for over a month about it, telling him exactly how we wanted it asking for updates and begging for pics and then when he makes EXACTLY what we describe you say you think it looks weird?

even if i am the only one, Cowltech, i think it looks great and im not really sure why the other guys arent jumping on this. maybe they just havent seen the list thing yet?

Well, this is a thread about making a seat cover, by a company that makes seat covers, not seats.
Sounds like you're in the wrong place.
And I really don't see how it would be "easier" to make an entirely new seat.

Cowl Tech

The seat cowl is made to to be easily removable, allowing for a passenger to still be able to ride with little time of converting your solo seat back to a full seat.  The difference in a seat cowl compared to a full "supersport tail" is that for a full tail you have the hassle of removing all your rear fairings and then installing the new tail, and if you want to take a passenger with you, then you reverse the whole process.  Either way this is for those who requested it, with the removal of the grab rail, and to extend fully to the rear, but as of right now we have a list started but noone has continued on with placing their name on it.  If you have any more questions feel free to ask, thanks
