Hey brighteyes67 and everyone else concerned with this scam.  I'm supposed to be getting a call from Tim today and as of right now 2:41pm I have not heard from anyone yet.  I had called him to all three numbers that I have (except his mobile) and all I get is his voice mail.  I already left him a couple of messages... next one is to let him know that I'm taking legal action.  If you guys are with me I'll suggest for all of us to submit our complains to BBB, local chambers, police, cc, etc.  This is outrageous! Should anyone heard from them let us know.

Good luck guys!

brighteyes67

razor5, well good luck on that phone call ur waiting for because he text me that same thing last week and still I haven't gotten that call....

I think that I had enough of BS from Cowl Tech that I called all the numbers i had and told them that if I don't hear from anyone by he end of the month that I am going to take legal action. My husband is so PO that they have been BSing me for 16 weeks from the day I ordered mine. This is the first that this has ever happened to me and It will be last. I am looking for a company that i legit and will make one for me, I have a family member that works for the Federal law office that I am going to talk to today to see what can be done about Cowl Tech/ Custom Impact/ Kits and More....

Good Luck to those of u who are in the same situation as razor5 and myself...

razor5

brighteyes67/guys, as expected I did not get any calls from Tim or anyone from any of the different companies.  However, I started calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and then calling some more until I guess he got tired of me calling or maybe since I dialed the 800 number he gets charge per call, I don't know, but he finally answered.  He tried to play dumb and not knowing who I was or which one was the cowl I was reffering to... anyway I told him which one was my cowl but then told him to forget about the cowl and what I needed was my money back.  He reply that I was not the only one who he need to solve the situation for since he was not the none doing the painting and he did not have a painter.  I reply that as a customer that is not my foult and that I understarn a few day delay but this is ridiculos.  He then said that we should be patient since he was doing us a favor by painting the cowls... the nerve of the guy, man!  WHAT FAVOR, I told him, I PAID TO HAVE THE COWL PAINTED AND THERE'S NO FAVOR HERE.  I repeated to him to forget it and to send my money back.  He said that it will take 72 business days for my cc to get reinbursed... againg, I know this is bs.  I told him that if I did not get my money by Wednesday I was going to press charges.  He then got upset and told me to press charges now... then he told me that he was tired of me (or everyone else) calling him 500 times a day and during the weekends... that when this situation was over he was going to call me 500 times, "just so you see" he said.  I told him that I did not care as long as he sends me my money.  Then he just hanged up on me.

So, what do we see here is that some how he gets very bother if we don't stop calling or texting for that matter.  If you have don't have the numbers let me know or you can get them out of the websites (kitzandmore.com or cowltech.com).  Also, brighteyes67 has Tim's mobile for texting also.

Brighteyes67 let me know if you find anything from your friend.

Let's go after the guy - who btw is the owner of kitz and more.  If they are going after others in other site plese warn them.

bikejunkie223

Gosh- it's really terrible you guys are inconveniencing him with the constant phone calls, of course it is an inconvenience to you to have nether the product in any kind of reasonable time frame, nor your money! F that guy! All of you should get busy signals because the rest are calling so much until he returns your money or sends the parts and gives you tracking numbers. What's he gonna do? Complain harassment? You guys have every reason to call him as customers and he can make the calls stop by doing wtf he said he would. @$$hole scammer.

razor5

...I need to make a correction on the time fram Tim gave me to credit my cc - he said 72 hours or 3 business day (not 72 days).  Anyway, let's see how he delivers, I don't think he would like me calling every time all the time night and day 24/7.

razor5

OKAY!!! Here's what my lawyer just told me right now....

Since this was a sales transaction conducted through the Internet - it is then considered to be a transacion conducted under the terms specified under the Federal Commercial Law.

Now, since we (whoever else paid for it) bought and paid for an item under the terms and conditions agreed with the sales person (Rich) and/or the company Cowl Tech and its owner(s), and such item or full refund, for that matter, has not been given to us within the time frame established by the company in writing and published in their WebPage, and due to the FACT that this was a sales transaction conducted through the Internet then the recommendation thus far is for every one of us in this situation to get together and file a formal compalint with supporting documentation (transaction slips) against whoever may be responsible and present it to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Like I said, Wednesday is the absolute deadline for me, so if you guys (brighteyes67) want to proceed with this let me know...

joshr08

just wonde3ring if you guys got your cowls or your money back.  Havent heard anything more about this lately.

...neither.  However, I already started the documentation process and as advised by my lawyer and reported the company first to the BBB.  It takes 14 days for a response and if that doesn't happen I take the documentation from the BBB where company failed to pay or respond and add it to the documentation for the FBI.  I'll keep you guys posted as things progress.

brighteyes67

Hi everyone.... I'm happy to say that my bank got my money back and that I hope that everyone else did too. They too have been trying to call Cowl Tech and still no answer. So I just wanna say GOOD LUCK....

razor5

Hey brighteyes67 - good for you!!!

For the rest of us still not getting anything yet, here's a link for you to place your complaint http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx this is a site that I got from my local Attorney Generals Office.  Basically what they say is this:

The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).

IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime.  The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes. read more >>

Anyway, I had already filed my complaint with the company local BBB in Brea, Cal. and now I just submitted my complaint to this IC3 Office, it is easy and fast.  You should try it and keep it handy if you should ever get into situations like this through internet purchases.

I hope this helps.

Cowl Tech

Hi everyone,

This is Rich your contact from day one.  I have not gotten a chance to read through the posts that I have missed, but I have heard that there have been issues with people getting their orders and contacting us.  I want to be completely honest with everyone on this forum and let them know that those who tried to contact us, or who wanted their cowls painted were not be ignored, nor screwed.  I am the only one in the company who has been the contact to this forum and it's members.  I also own the paint and body shop, and handle those cowls once they get here (which is the location in Texas).

The reason that contact was scarce both by telephone and e-mail, is because I wound up in the hospital.  I wound up getting assaulted from behind from a drunk individual who tried to show off to my ex-gf, who was with me while tailgating before a game.  I wound up hitting the tailbed of a truck, and then the cement.  The kid ran away right after and my ex wound up getting me to our local hospital, where the catscan showed interior bleeding on my brain.  So they stuck me on a CareFlite to get me to a hospital with ICU/Trauma.  Long story short for everyone, I wound up with subdural hematomas of the brain on both temporal areas; contusion to right temporal; linear fracture of the right temporal area; fractures of the left supraorbital infraorbital, zygoma, maxillary sinus, malar bone and mandible.  After surgery my blood pressure increased greatly to anywhere from 150-170 over 105-120.  I wound up having my jaw wired shut for a month and a half now, just had surgery this past thursday to remove it.  Plastic surgery to input a metal plate for my whole cheek, and surgery for a drainage tube.  I was stuck in the hospital for 2 weeks, and am told that full recovery of my head will take another 4-6 months according to my last catscan.  Not being allowed to drive around, having appointments and surgeries, and what broke my heart...not being able to ride my personal bike in the beautiful weather I was missing out on.

It is because of this reason that I did not have my cell phone for quite a few days, which was dead when I did finally receive it, my ex had one family members phone number in her phone that she called.  Tim was not aware of the situation until my ex went and bought a phone charger for my phone, and she was able to contact him and inform him of the situation.  Until this time calls went thru to the paint and body shop, since that was not opened your calls were not answered (which I apologize for), after that, they were rerouted to our central office in california so that your questions could be answered.  Even thou the phone calls were then taken care of, the paint was not, which once again is on me.  We attempted to have a painted work on those that needed to be out, until our shop was able to handle it again, but those guys did not properly color match, so those are being redone by my shop now.  And will be completed and painted for those who have patiently waited, and for any other products that are wanted from us when they are produced, we are going to give at generous discount cost as a thank you.

I would like to greatly apologize on behalf of CowlTech.com.  I am only one person, and nowhere near the entirety of the company, but since we started to try to offer a service to paint these cowls at the cost we offered, just to help keep your costs down so you wouldn't have to pay more elsewhere, we had to create separate divisions in order to make sure everything happened in a timely matter.  I hope that the dedication I tried to show to this forum and it's members with my constant devotion to help achieve the goal of producing the type of products that you all designed for your bikes.  I am basically stuck around a computer for the most part until everything is healed, so I can answer questions and give order information as well.

Sincerely,

Rich

Maybe you didn't understand what was said.  No it's not one cell phone, but for the cowls, the calls went to the paint and body shop in Texas, for any of you who ordered a cowl with paint have spoken to me personally, those who order without paint were transferred to our sales department which is in california.  And the ninja ex, and cbr are the other forums associated.  The cbr forum was set by one individual who wanted one cowl that he created the design for, he was explained the amount of time due to the fact that it was only one cowl and it was a special order.  He agreed and wound up having an issue part way through with the timing, so he was refunded.  The ninja forum was explained the same thing that I explained to you.

We setup the offer of paint to help those getting cowls to have them painted at a fraction of the cost of what it would be to do it yourself or to get it done somewhere else.  Those who ordered them unpainted, either while I was in the hospital received them before I even got out.  It has nothing to do with the cowls, it is only about the paint work.  Either way, I would not have come on this forum in the first place to talk this many pages to just figure out a design before we worked on it.  That is why CowlTech got a GS just to work on to make sure the parts were perfect.

Hey Rich, I left you a very detail private message last night for you to review - and as you are mentioning here that you have have already sent refunds to others, please reply to my messages to indicate the status of my $260.00 refund.  By showing up here again after so much time either shows good faith on your part or it just show that you don't give a sh... and want to continue business as usual.  Please do what's right and send me my money back.  After all, IT IS MY MONEY that you have.

Cowl Tech

Razor5,

Sorry didn't even see the private messages, but I just read it and I want to thank you for what you said.  It means a lot especially where I'm at right now.  I was the person who brought up the concept that the riders should be given the chance to design what they want to have for their bikes, and well since it was my idea, they gave me the chance to see if that's what riders wanted.  It took alot of time to come to conclusions about products and designs, but I have tried to put my extra time and effort in to make sure that the product you all wanted, was the one to be created.

I have always been told that honesty with your customers is the best way, and that people generally understand when you keep them informed.  Well I would like you all to know that I don't consider you customers, customers and sales/marketing individuals don't work this long together, I have considered you all fellow riders, and a design team.  And I feel you should know how the company works over here.  I am the owner of a paint shop in Denton, TX, which I'm sure you have seen on the videos.  There are only 2-3 employees, based upon the type of work, and how much of it.  It is a small sector that was created in order to offer "our customers" the full package and at the best cost.  If you want to do the math in go get a quote of how much it costs to get a bike part paint matched, or if you were to paint it yourself and to purchase your paint matched color from ColorRite.com you are looking at:

Touch Up Pen-$15.95
Touch-Up Jar-$20.95
Aerosol-$33.95
1/2 Pint-$81.95
Pint-$119.95
Quart-$189.95

There is truly no reason you all should not know these facts.  Each cowl needs to be primered, you use a high build primer, and you then need to wet sand it down.  If you have a single stage paint, you only need one color.  Now if you have a paint gun and reducer, then you can get a touch-up jar, and that will paint your cowl up(remember you need reducer).  If you have a 3 stage paint, you will need another touch-up jar for the second color that coats on top.  And then whatever clear coat you want to get.  Of course you can do it without clear, but that's what we call a wet paint.

The less people, and the smaller the sector of paint, the more paint jobs that can get done, and the more of a chance to have multiple cowls of the same color ordered(allowing for us to purchase the quantity amounts of paint, so we can paint more for a little cheaper.).  That was the goal of this sector, and the reasoning of it's size.  I am your only contact on here because I was the one that came up with the idea, and so I was given a shot to make it work.  So that is why I was the general contact for the newly created cowls because I took all of your comments/suggestions/designs and came up with the final design, and gave it to our corporate office to make it happen.  Besides myself those actually making the prototypes, and then the workers who actually manufactured the finalized products, were the ones that were informed.  Unless they were purchased without paint, I was your contact.  There were never any problems with my personal touch, some of you even have my cell number, but since this incident the only others that would have been able to keep you up to date on the problem with paint would have been one of our painters who only speak Spanish and who don't have the key to the shop.  Those who order without paint....ready to ship before it's even ordered.

I hope this is as honest as I can be, you now know why it was a small sector, and how the location was setup.  Now everything is changed over, and the thought of whether or not to keep the paint sector open as come in to play.  Which will solve all problems for shipping, but unfortunately will give everyone one extra thing to get done once they receive their cowl.

Thanks and I hope this helps some more, please feel free to ask questions, there is absolutely nothing to hide.  I will gladly sure my catscans and hospital bills, information about how the company works, the manufacturing process, anything you want(you all designed this product, so you have a right to feel like an employee for this product).

bikejunkie223

Yeah, you really need to give these gents their money back- sorry you had personal problems but going weeks on end with no contact is no way to run a business. You couldn't have someone put up a post for you that you were jacked up and would be out of commission for a bit? Too much time has passed, and the run-around was way too crappy for anyone to take you at your word at this point. You could start building some respect back if you pay the people who got hosed their money back if they want it. I think that would say a lot. Anyway- your operation really  seems like amateur hour to me and I would never do business with you based on all I have read so far. Too many scammers on the internet, and right now you look like a pretty arrogant bastard coming back in here while you are still holding the cash of people who have had to file complaints with police, state's attorney's offices, and the Better Business Bureau. Give them back their cash dude.

razor5

Rich, In case you did not get the private message here it is in the open forum... I'm including your last message and my response.  Again, I need an update on my refund.

FROM RICH:
sorry I didn't even see the privated messages till now.  Your cowl was to be painted black correct?  I do have your black one curing as it was finished yesterday from my painters, it will be ready to ship by sunday.  Unfortunately FedEx isn't open, but it would go out Monday for you, and that would be coming from Denton, TX.  You and I have had conversations, and I'm sorry that the personal touch went away during this time, but since you are in TX it would most likely be to you by Wed, or Thurs.  I can in fact print your slip up for you and have fedex e-mail you your tracking information and status by Sunday if you would like.  I know it has been a long wait, but it's done and once cured, ready to ship.

Personally I would love to see you get the product you ordered, and would love to help if you needed anything else in the future with it at cost for you.  But let me if I can send you your tracking number, and give me the opportunity to prove to you that this business is about the riders and not about scams and money.  Thank you once again for your concern, I figured placing the pictures online would keep people away from the post, and i've come to learn that when you take a CareFlite, you pretty much are buying yourself a helicopter. ha.

Sincerely,

Rich
CowlTech

MY RESPONSE:
Rich, this is exactly what I'm talking about... my cowl was supposed to be painted candy grand blue NOT BLACK!  If you've read my previous private message, this is the reason that I rather have my money back - basically I don't want to be dealing with the frustration anymore that the item did not come in the right color, size, or it came broken and would not have a way to prove otherwise - hence, I'll be stuck with a part that does not work and without my money.  If you really want my business I will propose this to you: Credit my account back with the $260.00 dollars by today or tomorrow and once I receive the cowl and make sure it okay and working I'll send you the $260 again.  I promise you - once I get the correct and useful item, I WILL SEND YOU THE MONEY!  What do you say?

Bud - add to that the solo cowl you made looks (in my honest opinion, having one on my GS right now  :icon_mrgreen:) the business.  NO hump style, SOLID clicking fastener - perfect fit, and delivered quicksmart.

Also, meant to add above - in case there was any confusion, I am no longer in need of a cowl from you guys at Cowltech...I now have one.  :thumb:
