So, I checked the forum and it seems like everybody has diffrent things to say about the rear tire size. What size tire would you go with, also what brand? My rear tire is new but I got a nail in it, and the dealer said they would get that rear tire replaced asap, your opinions on that as well? I have now a 130 70 17 on the back.

I have put on a set of Avon Road Riders and they are sweet.  I feel way more confident with them on that the BS tires.  I did have a Maxxis Promax on the rear for about 13k after the original punctured at 8k.  I never knew how well it handle until I put the Avon on the front at 18k when the stock front tire finally wore out.  I have had both Avons on now for about 450 miles and fell inspired to lean WAY over now.

I have Shinko 005 Advanced 120-60-17 front and 160-60-17 rear using a Bandit600 4.5 inch rear wheel, special modified spacers, and sprocket carrier. Stock front fender was to close for comfort so I used a Bandit400 front fender.  O0

I too have the Avon AM26 RoadRiders.  I'm a newbie, but I've been very happy with them so far.  I picked them up based on someone else's recommendations--taking handling AND longevity into consideration--though I can't remember who it was.  I chose stock size tires.  If you can find someone who'll mount them for you, buy them online!  I had a great  experience with americanmototire.com.  I couldn't find better prices.

PS--though not all that important, they look cool too!  :icon_mrgreen:

I also got the Avon RoadRiders....and just put them on the rims this morning!  I'm not putting the wheels back on the bike till it cools off a little tonight, so obviously I haven't riden on them yet.  It's about 95 degrees outside with about 90% humidity. :o

I bought them at the recommendation of several members, most notably Gsjack...the Tire Master.  Got a GREAT deal through americanmototire.com ($156 shipped to my door for both tires).   :thumb:
