i was in going down a street with alot of construction going on and my front tire hit something and the back end went up and then to the left (back end didnt go up b/c of braking...so it wasnt an endo)...i went up with the bike, kinda did a half flip, left elbow hit, left side of hip hit, back end of bike fell on my ankle.....scratches and bruises mostly
im glad i got my first fall out of the way and it wasnt so serious....the gs showed no damage....bulletproof as always....few scratches tho.....
the lesson here is......do NOT use front brake when the road is rough/dusty as the u will lose all travel in the front fork and the next thing to hit the front wheel will mess u up.....and always wear your gear! i kept my head off the ground the whole time b/c im not too keen on buying another $450 helmet b/c of "microscopic scratches"
Don't mind me I'm just new.

Progressive springs really help out with the forks bottoming out and braking problem!

glad you're okay. Might I suggest Progressive springs so you dont bottom out the forks again...

Ugh! I'm glad you're okay - not fun!

A crash you can walk away from is worth what you walk a way with.

I am very glad to hear you're OK!

Keep riding, keep riding safe.

Yeah,  we all become wiser from these incidents. There is even  a club called "0 mph Down Club".
It is not good enough to say that we are trying our best. We must succeed in doing what is necessary.

First, I'm glad you're OK...
I have some questions.  Do you remember about how fast you were going when your front tire hit something?  Did you ever discover what it was that you hit?  Were there any signs, that you recall, posted to warn about construction, road hazards, edge traps, etc??  Finally, can you remember exactly what kind of action you tried to take when the front tire hit?  Thanks, I hope you'll be riding again soon.

im guessing i was going around 5-10 mph...i wasnt going fast at all....i do NOT recall seeing any signs...im going back there soon to check...if there are no signs i might get some money from the city...i didnt do much before i hit.....its not like i knew i was gonna go end over end...i was just gently braking with the front and rear and BOOM! i hit either the manhole (it was sticking out bc the ground around it was all jackhammered) or the disfigured lumps of tarmac around it
