looking for a rev limiter

So I know of the duna 2 stage rev limiters but they have for a 4 cylinder and a harley(drl-400). im not looking for a launch but just an 11k limiter thats all.

don't waste $
the valves float at about 11.5
and you can hear that with ear plugs in

also it stops pulling hard about 10k so you have time to shift before 11k

even tho I may sound like a newb but with my work boots I look some fgeeling on the shifter and miss seond and shift into N or the bike will go inot second and pop inot N I ve gone way past 11.5k and want to stop that. plus I like the sound they make

If you've gone 'way past' 11.5k you don't need to worry about little shaZam! modifications, you'll be needing to rebuild that engine soon.


On topic:  I don't know of any universal applications, but I do seem to remember Dgyver saying he had worked one out on one of his race bikes.  I'd say your best bet will be to find a similar bike to the GS and graft whatever type of device it uses for rev-limiting onto the GS.  There are a couple of ways manufacturers have tried over the years, my Ducati's rev-limiter is controlled by the ECU and is changeable at most dealerships.  It currently rev-limits at 9.5k, so it has been reset once from the stock 9k.......without using 800ss head or having a ton of work done to the stock heads  theres no need to ever be past there.  I almost never hit the rev-limiter as I tend to think of myself as an all-around alert rider and pay attention to both my precision and my machine.  The last time I hit the limiter it was just to scare the hell out of the guy in a 350z sitting next to me at a light (no one said I wasn't an @$$hole)

I shift just fine but with my steel toes I have no lever feeling and tend to hit a bit soft. in the next coming months I wanna start doing track days so a limiter would help a little.

Anyways....what you want is the Dyan 1 stage or 2 stage for a 4 cylinder. DRL-400 4 cylinder is what I have on the race bike. The wiring is super simple and took me maybe 1hr to install. I have not used the launch rev limiter but I do use the rev limiter at 10.5K

The reason that the 4 cylinder works is becuase each coil actually fires at TDC for every stroke(which means its also firing on the exhuast stroke) this is the same firing pattern as a four cylinder except that with the additional cylinders the other cylinder would be at TDC on the compression stroke. Hope this makes sense.

Back on track...

I know I'll miss a shift with work boots on occasionally, and a rev limiter would be nice for anything that revs as fast as the gs. I can dig you wanting to prevent engine damage.
