Cash to let me ride your bike in VA

hey i know this sounds kinda odd.  but here is the deal im in blacksburg VA about 30 mins south of roanoke.  i just got my moto licence about a month ago and i have gotten hooked on GS500s just cause they are clean looking. great on gas.  and in my price range.  here is my only issue

never ridden one

the only thing i have ridden was a ninja 250.

im not realy asking to ride out on the road i just want to meet in a big parking lot just to see if i fit/like how it feels before i go drive 6 hours to buy a bike get their and find out i hate it for some reason.

haha thought about that never been laughed at so hard in my life. let a 21 year old male out on a new bike with a 4 week old licence.   they told me after i put half down on the bike i then could test ride it.

i would be willing to let you ride mine, BUT im a bit more than 6 hours away. but these gs's are great beginners bikes. not enough to get you into trouble, without looking for it. handle fairly good. plus you can get a used one, ride it, and often sell it at a modest profit

ya like i said i liked the ninja 250 i thought it was alittle hard to keep the thottle smooth getting on and off it the bike seemed to lurch around alot could have just been that bike or me just sucking at it haha but i found it easy to ride

I have ridden a 250 ninja. It was stock and was fun to ride just not enough umph!.. But a really good starter bike. My bike has more and more modifications I find out all the time, and although its a bit rougher it is much more fun to ride. I think I am addicted to acceleration though, which makes the GS a much better bike for me. It was smooth, shifting was really easy, and even has a temp gauge. the ninja was a 2005 and my bike is a 2001. I do like the looks of the new 250s though..

Coming from a 250, a GS will feel like a bigger, more awkward bike. That feeling mostly goes away when riding. I don't know where you rode, how fast and in what gears, but the 250 is smoother and goes about the same in a parking lot. The GS pulls a little harder at lower revs on the road. That can make it easier to ride. They are both very easy bikes to ride compared to other bikes. If you want a test ride be prepared to fork over enough to buy the bike with the understanding that if you dump it, you just bought it. Seems fair to me.

The ninja 250 definately feels smaller, lighter, a little closer to the ground seat-wise, and quicker to turn in.  It also feels a bit more docile, but the way the power is delivered is fairly similar between all parallel twins.  Just that the more displacement you have, the more power you get.

Seating position on the '07 ninja is somewhere between a GS-E with '89 clipons and a GS-E with stock bars.

What I didn't like about the Ninja are the fairing-mounted mirrors (like nearly all faired sport bikes)  They're about as useless as a heater in hell.  Bar mounted mirrors are far more effective because they're closer to your eye and therefore have a wider field of view.
