I was removing my tank today amd while I was trying to pull the fuel lines off (pulling + screwdriver prying) one of the outlet tubes pulled out. It doesn't look like it's broken, just looks like it pulled out. Is this possible? And how can I fix it? If I just stick it in there will fuel leak? Here are some pictures.

You should be ok.Just lightly tap it back in.That hose barb is brass and will damage easy.It should seal.If it doesn't use a small amount of rtv sillycone around the fitting.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Alright, I'll give it a try.  Thanks Ben.

Mine did the same thing a couple weeks ago. I slid the tube back into the petcock and leaked/seeped from that tube.  I didn't try to fix/seal it. I said screw it and found a used one off of a 2007 on ebay.

I stuck it back in there and ran it for a couple minutes. I'll have to run it some more to see if it's going to leak.

The reason I was under there was so that I could adjust my throttle cable at the carbs. After installing my kat f/e I had to re-route my throttl cable, and somethimes my bike would rev up. I could cure it by turning the bars to the left. So I slakened up the adjuster at the carbs, and now when I turn the bars left or right it revs up. When the bars are straight it idles normally. Should I adjust the cable more? The cable itself has plenty of slack to it, not being stretched due to the routing. While I was adjusting I kept my finger on the throttle mechanism at the carbs and turned the bars and I could push on it throughout the range.

I had to reroute mine because of the same problem.I had to put a little slack in my cable to stop it.

As usual I over complicated things.  :icon_rolleyes: I just played with the adjuster at the throttle end and fixed the problem, lock to lock with no reving. If only I would have done that in the first place, then I wouldn't have popped that outlet tube off. It probably would come off when I do my valves though.

So, problem solved, at least the reving. We'll see if I start leaking, I may go pick up some of that sealant tonight just in case.

Alot of times when you remove a press fit  fitting from a soft alloy (or any metal) housing, it enlarges the hole as it comes out.   You will probably need to flare or otherwise enlarge the end of the tube and carefully replace/press it back into the petcock.   It needs to go back in straight, use a bushing or tube to support it as you press it back in with an arbor press or vise or similiar.   Loctite will definitely help get the fit you want.
Attack but have a back up plan

Ok, I'll try that. For some reason the fuel line on that outlet is extremely tight, I still can't pull the outlet tube out of the line. The other one comes off easily. Any ideas why this is?

Just happened to me too while trying to remove the fuel line.  I had to slit the fuel line to remove it from the nipple.  Afterwards tapped it back in and it's not leaking.  Also seems to be in very tight.

Good luck.

I used to have fuel lines and heater hoses and such get stuck on my like that when working on cars the easiest way to make the next time easier is put a little black synthetic grease on the tube then install the hose, your hose will go on easy and it should come off easier next time. as far as the tube goes since it is supposed to be stuck in their why not JB weld in back in?

This happened to me th day I bought my bike.

I slit the hose cleaned it up, put the nipple bak in the hole and gave it a few medium taps with a hammer and it is not leaking.

I have not put any serious miles on my bike yet, but it seems to be tight when I try to pull/twist it.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Ran down to local CycleGear and picked up 3' of clear fuel line ($5.99) and went ahead and swapped out the rest of them while I was at it.
