today at work this dude i was helping was like "ahhhh my leg". i asked why and he said he rode his bike and got burnt by the pipe. he was wearing shorts, t-shirt, and a pair of sunglasses. i replied with "thats what you get for being a squid!". he laughed....

anywho..

i went outside with him and looked at his bike and convinced him to do a fenderectomy on it. i didnt know they were even so bulky on the full on sport bikes as well! (quasi n00b)

naturally, i gave gstwin.com props for the idea  :thumb:

I'm in the same boat.  You start to forget what the stock fender looks like when everyone that you ride with has theirs all chopped off.  I go into showroom and youre like:  What's up with the wheelie bar?!...Oh that's the stock fenders..

Oh and has far as calling your buddy a squid.  I gotta side on this one with him.  There's no way I could wear protective gear in this Tennessee summer.  I mean you're in stop-and-go traffic, city heat and low-speed and straight road.
I realize that it's always safer to wear your gear but in these conditions I make an exception...

The jellybean isn't exactly a full-on sportbike.  I don't see how someone could burn themself on the pipe without doing something stupid.  My legs are in front of the pegs when I'm stopped.
