Some grades of Ti are stupid expensive.  The pins they used on my hand were surgical grade and a tad over $600 a piece

Well, when you have nowhere else to put 'em, they go in your pockets. 

I was the boss at the time.

It delayed a commuter flight by an hour as I had to speed home, get the bolts on top of the washer and speed back.

Then we had to inspect each one to make sure the threads hadn't been damaged by all the agitator activity.
