Ok so I tore it about and was going to to the light bulb change into a colored on but when I did I put the led in the it blinked and know that side won't light up everything else does just fine any Ideas on what might have happened and what I can do to fix it?

fred

Did you put a resistor in series with the LED to limit the current? If not, you probably just killed the LED...

I am confused. Do you want LEDs in the gauges - speedometer & tach? Or did you put them in all the panel locations - Neutral, Turn, Oil, High Beam?

Putting an LED in the Turn would probably cause what you describe.

If you can understand a schematic CLICK HERE and see if it makes sense to you.

If do not understand the schematic, I recommend you go back to the original bulb type in the Turn for now and get someone to help you mod to LEDs that know the electrical/electronic aspects of this conversion.

LEDs are NOT a drop in replacement item on a GS for all places. Most of the automotive versions of LEDs are OK to put in these types of circuits - assuming they are wired for them - without resistors.

A little clarification would help us help you.  ;)

I put the stock bulb back in and I still have no light there

starwalt

Which bulb did you change? This is not clear in your original post.   :dunno_white:

(This is not clear to me. Anyone else understand?)

Well im Guessing Sides is Split into 2 , so the Tach or Speedo ,  But Its rather a open question

I was trying to replace the two lights in my gauges with leds. well when I put the led in it flickered then went out. So I put the stock bulb back in it but it wouldn't light it. Its like i blew a fuse but there is no fuse to blow is there? YEs they do split its two different lights in the tach and speedo the tach light works fine but the speedo wont light up any more

Got it now.

It sounds like the LED died (warranty issue?) and you should check it out independent of the GS or in the high beam spot to be sure it died. There may be no warranty on those items as many people do bad things to them - usually out of a lack of knowledge.

Another possibility is the wiring is intermittant and causing the problem.

Going back to the original bulb....the filament may have been broken during the change process. Get an known good bulb and try that. This will test your wiring also. If it works, the wiring is OK. Then try the LED again. If the LED doesn't work after the good bulb, the LED died prematurely.  It can happen due to mass production of the LED lamps. (It is usually a bad connection in the product.)

If a known good bulb does not work, the wiring has an issue and you must troubleshoot that, unfortunately.

Got a nearbly friend that is good with electrical/electronic issues?
