I know some of my fellow members have mentioned buying these on ebay, the brake lever looks like it has a dial on it with settings of 1 thru 4, is this for adjusting for finger reac or is it a fake adj. knob?

its for adjusting distance between the grip and actual lever due to "brake fade". I have CRG levers which you can adjust with 1 finger.

I have a set of these.  it seems like the higher the number, the closer the lever is to the bar, and makes it easier to grip.  go the other way, and it would make it easier to get your hand in there with gloves on

I just installed a set of these on my bike a few days ago. The previous owner had dropped the bike a couple times and broke the tip off the levers.
At first I didn't want them becuase I figgured the carbon fiber look would be tacky looking. But after I got them installed they look OK. They're great levers for the price!

One word of advice though............................ Don't do like me and forget to drop the safety start switch from the clutch lever perch. I forgot about it and couldn't figure out why the old lever wouldn't come out so I yanked it real good. Then I seen why it wouldn't come out!!

I had to wire the two ends together so my bike would run. Anyone got a switch for sale??

How does the dial adjustment work for you, is it effective or just a gimmick?

No, it's no gimmick, it works fine.

I have large hands, so I adjusted mine all the way out. But someone with shorter fingers could adjust it in about 1/2 inch or so. You get what you pay for, but it's still a huge improvement over stock.

My son had a R7 Ninja or something like that, and best I remember it had finer adjustments that this one, but that's it.

I think you'd be pleased with them.

I have those "CF" levers and they look great and work fine. Yes, be careful with the clutch side neutral safety switch! The adjustment on the brake side works well. I wish it had another couple of clicks for my small hands, but they are nice for the money. They sure look better than my old ones, which had the paint keep peeling off.

And my stock (?) 2001 brake lever had the adjustment wheel as well. There is a lot of play in both of my levers, old and new, apparently it's a sloppy tolerance or just my bike.

If any of ya'll are upgrading and have a nice condition OEM brake lever leftover, let me know!

Yeah I am thinking about replacing my stock levers as well. Some idiot Hit my bike while it was parked and slammed it pretty good on the right side snapping the brake lever in half and scratching the fairing. so i was thinking of replacing the levers.

Man I never park ina parking lot space if i go to a store I park on the sidewalk in front of the store for just that reason. Just look to park in a alternate safer spot, and the answer is no I have never gotten a ticket or hassled in any way.

If i parked on the sidewalk they would definatly ticket me... cops here in mi are not to friendly to bikers.. Yeah i started parking my bike to the very back of the parking spot now so that the tail is in line with the other vehicles.. and i havent had a problem yet..

I have the same CF levers and I did the same thing... broke the switch.. but for some reason there is enough of a plastic tit there that it still works. I also had a problem with my brake light staying on. the lever did not keep in contact with the momentary switch like it needs to. but all in i like the levers.. good price and they match my mirrors and blinkers now..

jeremy_nash

when I installed my CF levers, I had to adjust the brake lever a few times to keep it from holding on the brake lights.  it also helps to apply some grease to the pivot bolt to help it move freely
