:? okay, here's the deal, while i am saving the startup capital for my mc repair shop, i am working at pizza-hut. since my gs will be at the founding of my business, i.e.first bike bought as a wreck, re-habbed and made completely road-worthy, i want to use in the meantime at work for delivery, errands etc. great gas mileage. i was thinking either trailer, or sidecar. cause cant have the order smashed on one side of the box or the other. any ideas, thanks

throw a rack on the tail to deliver pizzas...that is what you meant, isn't it?

Ya, if you're riding normally a rack on the back of the bike will be less tramatic than a side car and much less dangerous than a trailer. With the lean there is very little lateral forces. The only thing to worry about is it bouncing too much. You'll want to soften the rear shock and take bumps slow to avoid this.

"i" before "e" except after "c"...good luck delivering those pizzas!

yeah, the rack.  in the few foreign countries i've been to, all their "deliveries" are on motorcycles or scooters.  makes sense to me!  better than a big car using up gas and mileage...
good luck

the rack idea has crossed my mind, but it would have to be enclosed and insulated, to keep wind chill from getting to the order. does anyone know where i could find enclosed case, to mt on pass. seat area? thanks again for quick replies

doesnt dominoes have those "oven bags"? order some dominoes to some address ( not ur own) and when he comes, intercept him, snatch the bag, and RUN
Don't mind me I'm just new.

There are boxes here in Australia that guys deliver pizzas on scooters with... they have an element (I am guessing) that keeps the pizza warm, and (I know this part) they are insulated and have racks so they dont slide around.

If they fit on the back of a 50cc run-about scooter it would fit fine on the ass of a GS500 -

You guys must have scooters that deliver pizza in America?

Will the Boss allow you to do that?

Oh, I'm in Tennessee too.  But where the hell is Clinton?  I'm near Chattanooga

Good luck bro

This is a fantasy of mine  ( :nono: ), just like in the Beemer comercial, to be a holy terror in leathers, delivering pizzas via my big ol' angry KLR.

I think the pizzas would survive quite well. There are few side forces because bikes lean when they corner so the centrifugal force that slides stuff across the seat in a car, just presses down on a bike.

I think it would be easy to get a rack and make a wooden box big enough to hold several large pizzas and perhaps install a 12v heating element and wire it to the battery (just remember to not leave it running with the bike off!)

If I ever get fired from here, I'll be sending you a resume.  :thumb:

yeah, ive figured, large boxes are 14 in square by 2 in tall so a duffle bag w/ a frame underneath it, and an insulator inside should do the trick. reason for the frame is so i have something i can use to strap it to the bike/frame. im going to test this by making a supreme, (all the way) pizza, as soon as it comes out of the oven, bag it, put into container, and take to my house, and see what it looks like. ive seen them use scooters in chicago a long time back, ive heard of it in nyc, and other large cities, so im thinking it should work here. as long as i dont ride crazy. save that for after i drop off the order.
