WTF?

Getting my bike all together today.  I put my new front sprocket on, put side coer back on, clutch doesnt work.  Weird.... worked fine when I took the cover off this morning.  Take it off and investigate.... the clutch cable pulls a turning mechanism that looks like it turns the clutch rod or something right?  Or does it push it in?  How exactly does the rod work?

I was able to just pull the rod straight out with no force, just seems like a circular rod, no flat spots or anything for it to grab on?  So whats going on?  Why when my case cover is on does the lever do nothing and not engage clutch?

Help!

You pull the clutch, cable rotates the part on the inside of the cover,it has a ramp that pushes the rod thru the engine releasing the clutch. You may have to adjust this with the cover on.Remove the cover with the 2 phillips screws.Loosen the locknut, turn the screw until it touches the clutch rod, back off 1/4 turn and lock down. Then adjust the clutch cable as normal.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Im a dumbass... my cable was just so far out of adjustment for some reason it wasnt turning the lever far enough to engage.  Things are swell now.  Thanks
