Set the choke, turn the petcock to pri, pull in the clutch, put bike in neutral, press the start button. It helps to drain the tank and carbs of the old gas. Then fill with fresh.

Siphon it out or remove one hose from the tank mounted petcock and attach a drain hose.

Do you remember how to ride it? ???

PRIme fills the carbs until the bike is up and running, then you switch to ON to ride.REServe is when the bike runs out of gas and you need to make it a little farther to the fuel station.  :thumb:

Seriously, are you screwing with us?Have you ever ridden a motorcycle before?  :dunno_white:

If you have an owners manual for the bike read thru it.If not, they're available at your local Suzuki dealership.

lol no guys im not screwing around. the real story is i got an r6 after a year of the GS, kept the gs in storage and forgot about it, literately, so just forgot how to work a couple of things. sooo im still not getting it does it have to be onprim or on for normal riding?

jeremy_nash

you start it on prime, then you can switch it to on and leave it there.  prime will let the gas flow when the engine is not running, so it will fill the gas lines and carb bowls

The following wiki entry describes how the petcock works:
