will that fit the GS500? I never saw such an item in the parts Fiche or on anyones GS500 before, was this really intended for a gs500?

you know I seen this on eBay and I was wondering the same thing?  That doesn't seem like it would be a bolt on but it seems to claim it is?

No.It fits the 550E 4 cylinder sport made in the early 80's.
