I'm not very mechanically minded but i'll give any job a go atleast once :thumb:

1. I had afew problem with my bike running like rubbish and it was the valves clearances that needed adjusted. I ended up using 4 x 215mm shims and gives me the max clearance at cold of 0.3 on each valve. so what is the next stage to get the clearance back to 0.8?

2. I've noticed lately that my bike seems to bog down at 4000-6000rpm (50mph+) bike goes along fine and then starts going durrr durrr durr and stuttering, if i give the bike abit more throttle or slow down it seems to stop the problem, but asoon as i hit 50mph+ it comes back, any ideas?  tryed running the bike on 'on' and prime and it still has the same effect.

thanks for any help  :thumb:

That drastic of a change in shim thickness, is either an indication that the previous owner did NOTHING in the way of maintenance, or a huge carbon build-up from the choke being left on for too long on warm-up.

Best way to resolve your "hesitation" between 4k-6k rpms is either to shim up the needles or change the main jets to size 125's.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Yeah I dont think any off the owners have really looked after the bike, I stripped the carbs to rejet and the bike was fitted with 112's. so i had a set of 122.5's kicking about and tryed them and the bike started stuttering and hesitating at about 20mph-30mph now.

@ben2go
QuoteI would clean the carbs and rejet to 40/125/1 washer and 2.5 to 3 turns on the mix screws.Posted some how to links.

Thanks for the links mate, could'nt change the pilot jet as it looks like someones been messing about and burred the top so its stuck in there pretty good. Also set the mixture to 2.5 might try out the 3 if i can figure out how to get this jet out.
