clutch issue, not cable

when it rains it pours, taking the carb off the bike, I manually put it in first to keep it from accidentally rolling (working on slanted surface)  After carb was out, I tried to put the bike back into neutral, but clutch cable had very little tension.  Pulling on it doesn't release the clutch.  Forced it back into neutral and pushed it back in the garage.  The tranny end the cable still seems to be connected, so the cable isn't completely broken.  Haven't taken the case apart, any ideas?  I don't have my manual here, any diagrams instructions online?

Check the cover on the left side of the bike.Remove the one with the 2 screws.There is a screw there that has a jam nut on it.Slowly turn it until you feel it touch the clutch push rod.Then back it off a quarter of a turn,hold the scew there and tighten down the nut.Then adjust the cable until the lever has 4mm of free play.
