I know that most of us only know about the forum, but gstwin.com also has a main page, that main page has a dyno run on it, and that dyno run is for a 1999 GS500e with a rejet and exhaust.  HP was 43.2 at around 9,000rpm, and 27.2 ft/lb at around 7,800rpm at the wheel.

Info found here.
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

Yea I saw that but that's on a dyno, inside with fans pointed at the engine, and very little load.

??? Little load, big load.  It doesn't matter.  The bike makes the same hp regardless of the 'load'.  If it's a 350 lb. man going up hill, or a 100 lb man going down hill with the wind at his back, it's the same 42 hp.  Obviously, 42 hp will motivate a smaller load more quickly, but the power remains the same.  Anyway, if it's 25 hp or 55 hp, it'll go fast enough to kill you, so  :dunno_white:.

96 made in Mexico?  Not according to the sticker on my 96, made 11/95.  Made in Japan.   :thumb:

That is till 12/95 ... then ... crapola.
Cool.

Probably a moot point at this point, but that must be why my 2001 says Made in Japan.  :kiss3:

It is made in japan from mud and sticks and clay. That is what makes the most power though.
OK OK, like its sticker than says made in Japan is made in Japan, but all the little widgets are all made in china.
OK OK, fine, its made in spain after 04, but Japan before that. However the percentage of chineese and korean parts have been ever increasing especially after 96.

NEWGS500F

The K7 GS500F I have was made in Spain, using Japanese parts, I believe.

The bike is rated 47bhp according to the official Suzuki website and has to be restricted to 33bhp in the UK, if the rider has a restricted licence.  This restriction lasts for 2 years thereafter, the bike can be restored to 47bhp.

actually I am on the french GStwin forum and they have the "new rider rule" that restrict HP to 33/34HP "bridee" (bridaled..humm sounds like a bad wedding to me)... so I guess it applies for them as well.

What I really find funny tho, is stupid people in cars mistaking the GS500F (like mine) for a Gixxer...its possibly that front stacked headlight and from the front (and to a layman) there are similarities....anyways, some people feel they just MUST rip the GSXR (or what they think is a GSXR)..........makes it all the sweeter when they are nothing more than a small dot in the wing mirror, as I casually pass without breaking too much sweat (or laws  :icon_mrgreen:) with nothing more than a "33 bhp"  :thumb:

Its not really the bike that causes drivers to think this way, its just the fact you are on a bike. There will always be someone who wants to block you in, cut you up or drag race you at the lights. They are not hard to spot and I keep away from them because they are happy to put you at risk, cause accidents and provoke road-rage.

The average car driver wouldnt know a Gixxer from a GS5 let alone the differences from the hole in his ar**.
