Im getting ready to prep it for paint . Although it is super clean , the pink splash just isnt my thing
And a new set of pegs are in the mail . Also a new back tire in the next couple hundred miles

I know pritty much nothing about bikes but this forum has helped me a ton

Wow, looks just like mine but in better shape.   I too have the dreaded "pink ink" tank decal.    I painted my plastics silver today, looks good.    Good luck with that great GS500.
Attack but have a back up plan

congrats T

you rejet to conpensate for the K+N?

nofearblackstar

yes its been rejeted

I did have one question though . Now that the carbs are all cleaned up it runs great and warms up twice as fast[befor it didnt even want to run with the choke off] . the only thing i have noticed is untill its warmed up for about 2 min or so if i give it gas quick it starts to try to die on me . Is this a big deal ? Again after about 2 min it idles fine and stops doing it and i never feel it do it again until the next time i need to warm it up .

commuterdude

Just let it warm up good and don't pull out in front of someone!

I'm guessing it's just not warmed up enough.  The GS is generally described as cold-blooded, so a good 2-3 minute warm up is pretty much standard.  Mine did the same thing the other day when the choke was taken off a bit too soon.  Re-choked it for another minute and then it was fine.  :thumb:

This company did a great job for me! Prices cut dealership estimates almost in half!  Just call around before hand and find someone who'll install it for you and be sure to get an estimate.  Some shops may want to charge more labor if you're not buying your tire through them.  ENJOY!  :thumb:

ok thanks

also heres another thing i was woundering . My pal works doing fiberglass and carbon fiber work . So i can get anything done for pritty much cost of material and a 6 pack of beer . What would be something cool to make in carbon fiber for the bike though ? It would have to be a part that cant be found to easly so its like a one of a kind thing , any thoughts ?

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Looks tidy for its age......Was it a struggle getting the tank off? Next time try it by removing the 2 bolts that pass through the frame and are indicated in red..... its a much easier method  :thumb:

I can't get over how clean that bike is.  How many miles are on it?  It makes mine look like a pile of poo.

actually getting the tank on anf off was really easy . I took it of a couple of times and had no issue . but next time ill try the other way and see if its easyer .

Those pictures are with it covered in dust , so i think ill go ahead and at least wipe it down [ maybe buff it up ] and then youl really see how clean it is .

Its got 29,000 miles on it . Not the best but for the price and the fact that it has been very well takin care of i figure it was a deal

fred

Very nice looking bike. It looks way cleaner than mine even though yours is two years older.
