89 gas tank for sale

I have an 89 gas tank (red) for sale. It is in great shape but has a couple scratches and a small dent on the left side. I can email pictures to anyone interested. Asking price is $50 plus shipping.

hi if u could post some pics that would be great. Are u positive that the tank is in good shape? No rust? Pin Holes? If so I would be willing to give you $60 including shipping if it is as you say it is...

Yes, the tank is in great shape. It came off a running bike, I just dumped out the gas. $60 shipped to where? If it is within the lower 48, that is fine. I can't figure out how to add a picture. Send me a pm with your email address and I will forward a couple pictures from different angles.

If you haven't sold this yet, I would like it - I have just found a leak in my '89 gas tank!! I need a new one badly.

simoniz _ I'll take that leaker if you get a tank. I am cutting up a few of them in a misguided attempt to make a crap pocket less tank ... so it will come in very handy.
I may be able to help you with a tank too, I know someone who has a spare. Depends on what he want to do with it.

Thanks Buddha, mine has a weep somewhere near the frame rail and the fuel outlets. I just noticed it had returned after I filled it to the top on Friday night. It also has a ding on the right side front, possibly accident damage.

I just need a better one, any color, as I will respray it to match the purple bodywork on mine. I have the white '89 tank but later purple bodywork - yes, it's a bitsa. As white parts are so hard to find, I will just match it to what I have on the rest of the bike. As soon as I get one, I will send you the old one.
